Here is what is left of Sawyers Thanksgiving Feast. So cute.

I am blessed to have the opportunity to spend time volunteering in my sons classrooms. This time, I was able to help with the Thanksgiving feast. This feast is a little different than most. The teachers felt that it was important that the children bring the foods "they" wanted for Thanksgiving. They discussed it in class and gave ideas of what the Indians and and pilgrims would have brought for the first Thanksgiving dinner. And they had a sign up sheet for the food that you chose to bring, you know, so that they didn't get "double" on the licorice. :)

Here are some of the items the kids brought. Mac and cheese, chicken noodle soup, bananas, rolls, turkey, mashed potatoes.

Pickles, celery, carrots, string cheese, white donuts, granola bars, Twizzlers, oranges, chocolate chip cookies, chocolate milk, apple juice, cheerios, and chocolate pudding.

The teachers talked about manners and the children were all very polite and well behaved. The food was hysterical. It was interesting to me what Sawyer ate when he had the opportunity to eat any of it. He was pretty healthy for the most part. It was a great experience. I am so happy to be taking this time with my adorable son.
