Thatchers Treehouse started as a way to keep friends and family informed of Thatcher's open heart surgery, progress and struggles with Tetralogy of Fallot, a congenital heart defect, or CHD. We are happy to report that he is doing very well and will continue to post about his medical situations when they arise. Thanks for coming to the Treehouse!

Thatcher is 10 months old!

WOW! This year has flown by! NO, this year has gone so SLOW! NO, this year has been the most joyful... no, it has been the most difficult..... I don't know what to say anymore. I think I am a little on the crazy side. Thatcher is 10 months old! We took him to the park for a Nelson family party a few weeks ago and he went down the slide with Sawyer and on the swings with mom, and Grandma and Grandpa held him and loved on him all day! It is so nice to have some "normal" days with extended family and friends and Thatcher. We are so grateful for all the blessings and trials that we have been given. We are however, ready for the financial trials to stop. :) Thatcher received one of his canine teeth this last week! Which explains the rotten mood he has been in. He is also looking like he will get his top two teeth very soon. We are hoping for that because he refuses to eat baby food and only wants to feed himself.

We love you all! Please say a prayer for Teagan "Dash" Pettit as he will be embarking on his second surgery very soon. Also, yummy little Rhett will have his spinal surgery today, so make sure you talk to God about him. His family has been through so much and they need a break!

Memorial Day and Dallas' Birthday at the Lake

Dallas had his birthday party at the lake this year. As always, he gets a little "hosed" on his birthday because it is always Memorial weekend. This year we had his party early at our house and took his friends to see "Narnia: Prince Caspian". Then we took his presents and had cake for his real birthday at the lake. Lisa and Kent and the kids came up and the Acord cabin was also full of boys so it ended up being a great weekend. Justin made Dallas M&M Eggs for his birthday breakfast..... I convinced him to let Dallas off the hook and tell him he didn't have to eat them after I saw the look on his face. Justin tried a bite and promptly threw them in the garbage! Nice thought though! The kids still braved the water even though it was rainy and cold. Dallas is such a great kid. He is so willing to help with whatever job needs to be done. Yesterday we pulled weeds in the backyard and his hay fever was at an all time high. He didn't complain once. He worked and worked until the sneezing was almost constant. I finally told him to shower so he could stop sneezing. What a good kid.

The Taming of the Shrew

Dakota was Hortensio in the 6th grade play. He did such a great job. He studied his lines all by himself and worked hard to talk loud and slow. The play was a success. Dakota has grown so much this last year. He has been so helpful with Thatcher, and helping take care of the yard. He made the Premier B team again this year. He is happy because as he stated it, "the B team has more fun and we win more games!" He will be leaving on Wednesday for the Summer Games in Cedar City and is very excited about that tournament.
